If you chose us as your breeders and you want to have one of our kittens the first thing we want to do is just thank you! We take great care of any of our kittens, treating them as if they were our real babies. New litters are always welcomed with great enthusiasm and love by the whole family.
Mom cat receives even greater attention from the very beginning of her pregnancy. She can eat whatever she wants, choosing from dry or canned food but always following a complete and balanced diet.
Our vet regularly monitors her conditions and follows the development of her pregnancy through ultrasound scanning and one single final X-ray exam in order to establish the number of kittens.
We chose to let our cats bear their kittens in our own bedroom – my husband’s and my room – so that they can always be under our watchful eye. We set up a real “nursery” – equipped with all comforts – where mom cat feels secure and quiet.
All kittens are weighed at birth and then their weigh is checked on a daily basis in order to make sure that all of them receive the right amount of milk from their mother.
Only in case mom cat should have some “problems” we supplement their diet with bottle feeding.
We feed our kittens exclusively with KMR products – milk replacer for kittens fortified with vitamins and minerals, and equal in protein and energy – which are quite difficult to find and have high costs but our main aim is to give our kittens only best quality food – always!
Ragdoll mom cats are essentially great! They need us during the delivery and want us to stay next to them from the very beginning, which allows us to actively help them so that they can bear their kittens peacefully.
This is further evidence of how much ragdoll cats love human company and how special they are!
After about 10 days, kittens start to open their little eyes and after about 15 days they start moving around with their own – quite unsteady – little legs.
Witnessing their progresses always gives us great emotions!
We start to wean them after about 40 days – at the beginning with canned food for kittens and then enriching their diet with dry food, too, but always respecting their needs and development.
After 40 days from their birth they start socializing with the rest of the family – both their hairy and their “human” family.
When they are 2 months old they get their first triple vaccine, they are wormed and given a parasiticide treatment, which will be repeated at the third month.
Now our kittens are ready for you
